Training Workshops     Work with NGO's

Arlei believes that a great part of the company’s success is a hands on attitude towards the well being and development of the communities that surround its facilities.

To this purpose, Arlei has channeled its efforts through several projects for community development around the country

Training

Training is a key point in the company’s policy of continuous improvement and sharing this with the community has proved to be highly beneficial.

Arlei has contributed in setting up a number of workshops where members of the community learn to manufacture shoes from donated raw materials such as glue, thread and leather cuts. Shoes have been cut and sewn in these workshops; these have been later distributed among the neediest children of the community. The groups have also received guidance in the development of their own “Vegetable Gardens” and Soup Kitchens that daily feed dozens of underprivileged children.

Donations and Work with NGO's

In the past years, Arlei has donated construction material for rural schools, local hospitals, rural emergency rooms, churches and other institutions. In addition to this, the company is currently working together with several NGOs who also focus on activities that help underprivileged communities achieve their basic needs.

Among the many activities undertaken, members of the local community are taught to process soybean and use it as part of their daily diet. Several tons of soybeans were donated by Arlei and given to Soup Kitchens that feed dozens of children every day. Members of the community also receive training on how to use compost (an organic fertilizer made from our effluent plant) in their family and communal vegetable gardens.

The company has also cooperated with Las Toscas City Hall by donating waste bins that have been placed throughout the public parks and the city.
