We are the most important Argentine exporters of crust, and number one in productive capacity. Most of our production is exported to Europe, Asia, Australia, USA, and Mexico, where we have different contact points taking care of our commercial activities.
An average of 10.000 hides a day is processed in our productive circuit of three tanneries, plus one conservation-and-storage intermediate station.
Just one hour and a half by air from Buenos Aires, in Las Toscas, Santa Fe province, we count with two plants. Our main tannery processes crust, to satisfy the demand of automotive customers, while the second one, a few kilometers away, is specialized in crust for shoe-upper. In the North of Argentina, in Salta, we have our vegetable tanning plant, where we make leather for sole, belts, and saddlery.
The wide production capability of Arlei facilities allow our company to face sudden production increments based on demand and enabling us to satisfy the needs of our customers all around the world, always standing on our commitment to a sustainable development of our activities.
Arlei manages three manufacturing plants in Argentina and all the activities are coordinated from Buenos Aires, where our headquarters and warehouse are located.
In order to comply with the high quality standards required by the automotive, upholstery and footwear industries, Arlei is constantly monitoring new technologies, innovating and purchasing any necessary new machinery from the main manufacturers in Germany, Italy and Spain.

HEADQUARTERS
Arlei’s headquarters are located in the heart of Buenos Aires. It has a staff of over 100 people working in the back office, exports, warehouse and logistics departments, providing an excellent service to hundreds of customers worldwide.
LAS TOSCAS TANNERY
Our chrome tanning plant is located in Las Toscas, Santa Fe province, more than a 1000 workers process 8500 hides per day, using cutting edge technology so as to achieve over 200.000 hides per month.
As soon as the raw material is delivered to our factories, the quality and lab departments perform strict controls to test and classify the hides. Every step of the production process is being carefully monitored from beginning to end in order to secure a high quality finished product.
In Las Toscas plant, we produce chrome and chrome free-tanned leather in order to satisfy our customer’s worldwide demand.
The hides processed in this plant, under the strictest quality, safety and environmental standards, go to the different international markets of the automotive, upholstery and footwear industry.
Since the year 2000, we have been investing on our sustainability program. The project included a 13.200m2 tannery effluents treatment plant, which was the first one in the area placed next to a tannery plant. Leather for the automotive industry is produced and exported only in crust.
DON ARTURO FINISHING PLANT
Located in Las Toscas, Santa Fe, just a few kilometers away from the chrome tannery with a production capacity of 80.000 finished hides per month, Don Arturo plant operates under the same guidelines as the other plants regarding quality control, safety and environment, thus achieving highly competitive products and satisfying the demands of our customers for the footwear and furniture upholstery industries exclusively.
SALTA TANNERY
The vegetable tanning plant is located in the province of Salta. Counting with a work force of approximately 200 employees, it has the capacity to process 1500 hides per day making an average of 45.000 units per month.
So as to achieve the demands of the belt, footwear, and saddlery markets mainly, the plant produces bends for sole , heel covers and welts, besides cut sole, bellies, shoulders, double butts, sides, culatta, and dossets.
The plant has an integrated quality, safety and environmental system, with its own effluent treatment processing plant operating seven days a week, in order to carry out its productive activities within a framework which is sustainable in time.
